The Word Shall Urge #3
Gallerie R-2, Paris 14°
29/10/2016

NOTE:

This was perhaps the most stripped-down and impromptu version of The Word Shall Urge. I was playing solo in an old underground car-park in the 14° arrondissement of Paris which had been turned into an art gallery by an old friend of mine. Quentin Richter was there, and just before the concert began we thought it we be good to play something together. Only having one guitar at hand however, the only option was that Quentin would take over my guitar and I would go on singing and saying. I played the introduction alone, at the end of which I carried on singing whilst handing the guitar to Quentin, who had until then been sitting among the audience. We pursued the performance striding and howling up and down the gallery, with only other accompaniment to the guitar and voice the sraping and banging of a metal pole taken from a clothes rail that I wielded like a club. Sadly there is to my knowledge no complete recording of the performance, only the low-quality audio fragment avaiable here, ripped from a short video that had been taken of the performance, which you can watch by following this link: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tjf6VRrRxUk

If ever some one has or comes across any more recordings of that night, please let us know!

Thank you — Ross Heselton 06/2016
